Marriage is a relationship of balance, it is a give and take setup and it is not biased. However, balance these days is greatly misunderstood thus many married couples need to deal with divorce.
This is very unfortunate because majority of people who enter divorce have very optimistic view of its consequences. They do not really think about the cost, emotional toll, and all the negative effects brought about by divorce to children. Couples are often blinded by divorce, thinking that it is their escape to all the miseries inside the marriage. The only ones that benefit from divorce are the Divorce Industry wherein couples go through the legal process- court hearings, hating and condemning each other and divorce attorneys just sit there and let both couples really hate each other. So, this only means there is no way to save marraige.
But to look at the other side of the story, what if you are already on-board to divorce but you have hesitations on wanting to lose your spouse? What if you realized that you still love him or her and you want the marriage to be saved? Also, you want to reconsider the kids and their future. Assuming that you want to save the marriage but you don’t know if divorce is really the solution? Well, if you are asking now if it is possible to stop a divorce, the answer is YES. There are many things to consider if you want to stop divorce. There are many situations wherein you can save marraige. But first, you must know that there are marriages that should not end and marriages that are likely to fall apart but end actually finding healing and staying together. In order for marriage to work, either person or the couple must work hand in hand. It takes two to absolutely make the marriage survive. The first consideration is to know how long the problem inside the marriage has been known.
It is not how long the problem existed but how long the person has been aware of it. The longer the problem has been known, the longer that the partner is seeking for change. Once that change does not happen, the result is, the person becomes resentful thus drifting away from marriage. The next thing to consider is the fidelity issues. Is there infidelity or not? Most wrecked marriage is the result of one being unfaithful.
Another thing to consider in order to save marraige is the children involved. Almost always, it is the welfare of the children that should be given priority by parents. To stop a divorce, parents must be aware on some level that they are basically ripping away the security and future of their children. Lastly, ask if both partners are willing to patch things up and don’t treat divorce as an option.
