Celebrating Zachary and Ethan

Posted on January 17th, 2008 in Motherhood

They were born at 28 weeks gestation (normal is 40 weeks) due to the fact that the bag of waters around Ethan had been leaking for 10 weeks. Sarah endured a lot in those 10 weeks including bed rest and a 4 week hospitalization. Both boys were very small when they were born and rushed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the hospital where they were attended to by their mom and dad as well as some of th

i don’t have time for this…

if you’re thinking it’s blogging, she doesn’t have time for blogging. you’re right - but that’s not what i’m talking about. what i’m talking about when i say i don’t have time for this is found in the following tale. we have nothing in the house for the kids to take for lunch - at least nothing proper. we could send pudding, lots of pudding, and a frozen pork loin, but as other moms know, sometimes it’s all about appearances. so, i have to go to the grocery store. now, i’ll admit, i’m a bit o

2008 Book Challenge

Posted on January 17th, 2008 in Motherhood

I discovered this book challenge on Cafemom.com. The challenge is to read a book that begins with the letter of each alphabet. This is a new and exciting challenge for me. I love reading but I often find that I don’t have the time to sit down and complete a book before something else comes along to snatch my attention away. Now that I’m part of a public challenge, I’m hoping that I may actually be able to follow through. I will post my results in this blog. A B C D E F - First to Die by James

Living Diligently with our Time

Posted on January 17th, 2008 in Motherhood

Here, then, is the real problem of our negligence. We fail in our duty to study God’s Word not so much because it is difficult to understand, not so much because it is dull and boring, but because it is work. Our problem is not a lack of intelligence or a lack of passion. Our problem is that we are lazy. R. C. Sproul We each have been given the gift of time, a jar representing each God given day if you will, to fill, what is in your jar? Diligently live, seek Him in your day and glorify His n

Will the Learning Curve Ever Flatten Out?

Update: Just scanning Will Richardson’s latest post. Funny how well-timed this post of Will’s feels given what I wrote about below. He quotes Chris Lott who writes: “’Going to school’ is an activity that has a life and dies; learning is a continuing process.” Amen from this kid’s papa. *** Watching Beckett proudly stand like an ancient explorer overlooking a just-discovered Aztec city while perched on top of our living room coffee table — in between knocking out a few 80’s-like breakdan

“With the possible exception of the equator, everything begins somewhere.” —Peter Robert Fleming I’m sure it would launch World War 3 (or are we up to 4 now? I lose count.) to determine but I suspect the equator does actually begin somewhere or more likely everywhere. Each point on the line is a start or end, depending upon how you look at it.
