Columbus Day

I gave this modest tribute to my father in 1993 and when he died four years later I included it in his eulogy. Despite the fact that he was bedridden for the last forty years of his life with a particularly crippling form of Multiple Sclerosis, his life was a good one. His ebullient joy of life and family and his everpresent smile will decorate my memories forever. I make it a point to republish this every Columbus Day, to remind me of his influence on my life.
