Carelessness Put Dennis Quaid's Babies in Danger

Three babies, including the twins-a boy and a girl-of Dennis Quaid and his wife, were rushed back to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles after hospital authorities discovered that they were accidentally given a massive overdose of the drug Heparin, a blood thinner. Hospitals routinely use heparin to flush intravenous lines in infants, although a saline solution probably is just as effective.
